Tribe of Avalon

Winter Solstice Gathering 2006

London Winter

Walking the Path of the Winter Goddess

This year the Tribe of Avalon Winter Solstice Gathering will be held on the afternoon of Friday, 22nd December 2006 in Greenwich Park, where we will walk the land and visit the Mother Stone fountain, gateway of the Crone, and the Snow Well, sacred to the Goddess Holda. In these sacred places we will make offerings, and perform simple ritual in honour of the stillness of winter and the reborn sun.

As we walk we will also call to the ancient Winter Goddess of the British Isles and ask Her blessings for this turning of the Wheel.

Please meet by the round benches just inside St Mary’s Gate (at the end of King William Walk and close to the National Maritime Museum) at 1.30pm, for a 2pm start (directions below). This will be a gentle walk but there will be some hills.

Tribe of Avalon is an open group which welcomes those following any path or at any level of experience. We meet together to celebrate each festival in the Wheel of the Year and to connect to the Ancient Goddess of the British Isles.

We will be asking for a £3 (£1 unwaged) donation to cover costs. Please bring bio-degradable offerings (such as fruit, sacred water, or flowers) and a small gift (up to £5) to be swapped at random with another person.

We also meet for Dark and Full Moon rituals. For further information please email Avalon@pflondon.org or join the Tribe of Avalon email list (for announcements only join the announcements list).
